Cancun-Part 1

Paradise. That is pretty much the best way to describe our week in Cancun! The weather was beautiful for 6 out of 7 days (it was raining when we landed), and we had the best time relaxing and enjoying our time at the resort. As it turns out, waiting a year to have your official Honeymoon works out quite well! :)

This is the one day we attempted to hang out on the beach... the waves were unreal! We walked out and were immediately knocked over by the waves! It was crazy! Given how hot it was, we opted for the poolside for the rest of the week! There were chairs in the actual pool, so I was all about those guys! :)

Naturally, we looked forward to the daily creation from the maids! This one was in our room on the day we had our "honeymoon dinner." :) ...AND each time we ordered room service (which was at least 3 times a day) the waiter handed me a flower! Great perk to being a woman! :)

This was our setup for the honeymoon dinner! We had the option of eating in a restaurant or having the meal brought to our balcony... we opted for the balcony dinner since this was the view from our room! It was absolutely beautiful!

This one is a little dark, but one of our favorite waiters took it of us after dinner one night!

Ok, that's all for now... more to come later!

Fun Getaway!

The week before we went to Cancun, we were invited to go with Trae and Amber to a house in Isle of Palms, SC. It was a gorgeous place! We were there from Saturday to Wednesday, so we really enjoyed our time there! Here are a few shots from the trip:

Four generations :)

Eric and me at dinner on Father's Day... maybe he will be a father soon! :)

My sweet sister-in-law, Amber :)

The beach was absolutely beautiful! The breeze was blowing, so it made it very enjoyable!

Once we get to any beach, Ab loves to run! Here she is running with her Daddy!

...and now running with her Papa!

Daddy Bob held down the umbrella (and Abbie's shoes :) for us!

We had a pool at the house, and I swear Ab spent 75% of the time in there! She just LOVES the water! She is an awesome little swimmer! We raced, and she always beat me! :)

Here's Uncle Eric trying to catch her! She would get to the side and say, "You couldn't catch me!"

One more of my love and me...

There are lots more pictures, and I may get time later to post some more. :)

End of an Era

Well, it finally happened. :) My Daddy retired this year after twenty something years in education. Needless to say, my family is very excited that he can join my mom in retirement and travel and enjoy life after teaching! The picture above shows his excitement, too! His friends hosted a retirement party for him a few weeks ago, and Eric and I surprised him and flew in for the party! We were so glad we got to be there to celebrate with everyone!

The decorations at the party were great! All sports were represented since Daddy has been a coach since he graduated from college... and notice all of the "spuds" that were on the table, too! :)
(my Dad's name is Spud for those who may not know :)

Every guest wore a necklace with a whistle and clipboard. This told us the Game Plan for the night. :)

Here's a shot of folks getting ready for the Spud Relay!

Mrs. Cindy made this for everyone to sign! Too funny!

I love this picture! If you know my grandpa, Daddy Bob, and my Uncle Hal, you would know that this is pretty much the perfect picture of their relationship! They can talk for hours! :)

The happy couple :)

...and the other happy couple! :) I can't deny that I'm my mother's daughter! :)

While it may be the end of an era, it is most certainly the beginning of a new wonderful chapter in my parents' life together! They are already planning lots of fun and traveling! Happy Retirement, Daddy!

One Year

One year ago today, I married the love of my life. :) It has been the best year ever, and I am so thankful that God brought Eric into my life. We really do have the best time together! I always thought it was crazy when people would say they were best friends with their spouses, but Eric is honestly my best friend... or "BFF," if you will... hehe!* I know that God has great things in store for us in the years to come.

*that was for you, Jules!
